“I wish to make it clear that I have no interest in the current controversy regarding the naming of the hospital. Neither I nor my son have any attachment to the name of the hospital. The construction of the hospital began before Nana Adu Kwasi Batafoi, Chief of Sefwi Kankyiabo, was appointed chief. While Nana Adu Kwasi Batafoi is my friend and a business partner to my son, that relationship does not give me the authority to act inappropriately or conspire to do what is not right. As the paramount chief, I serve all people, and it is my primary duty to ensure the towns under my jurisdiction develop well.

I kindly urge all my people to come to me directly for clarification if they hear any allegations. As your leader, I will not allow anyone to abuse their authority to take what does not belong to them. I was deeply concerned when the youth took matters into their own hands by removing the name inscription from the hospital block. What if the other town had retaliated? This could have led to unnecessary conflict. Although the action was inappropriate, as your father, I am not punishing you, but I urge the elders to ensure this does not happen again. We are all one people under the Sefwi banner, and it is vital we live in peace and harmony, focusing on development and leaving politics aside. While everyone has their political affiliations, we must prioritize the development of our communities.

After consultation with the Ghana Health Service, the ultimate name for the hospital is now: SEFWI ASAWINSO GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL.

Regarding SADA, I have accepted and extended my full support to you. My advice is to keep politics out of this honorable and noble association. Considering the presence of reverend ministers and other dignitaries within your ranks, I encourage you to champion development. Make time to visit me for blessings and further guidance.
